Wellcast Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026  ·  Last updated:

Wellcast ("the App") is a personal mental health self-tracking application. This privacy policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data we collect

The App collects the following information that you provide directly:

2. How data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device only, in a SQLite database within the App's private storage. Your data is never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party system. There is no account creation, no login, and no server-side component.

3. Data sharing

The App does not share your data with any third party. There are no analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or data brokers integrated into the App. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it using the CSV export feature.

4. Data export

You may export all of your data as a CSV file at any time via More > Export Data. The exported file is shared through your device's native sharing interface. You control where the exported file goes.

5. Data deletion

You can delete all of your data at any time via Settings > Delete All Data. This permanently erases all information stored by the App and resets it to its initial state. Uninstalling the App also deletes all stored data, as no data exists outside the App's local storage.

6. Data security

Your data is stored in the App's private storage area, which is sandboxed by the Android operating system and not accessible to other apps. The App does not transmit data over any network, eliminating risks associated with data in transit.

7. Children's privacy

The App is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. The App includes an age verification step during onboarding and will not proceed if the user is under 18.

8. Health data disclaimer

The App is a personal self-tracking tool and is not a medical device. Assessment scores (PHQ-9, GAD-7, and MADRS-S) are for personal tracking purposes only and do not constitute a clinical diagnosis. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

9. Third-party services

The App contains links to external crisis resources (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, SAMHSA, and others). When you tap these links, you leave the App and are subject to the privacy policies of those services. The App does not send any of your data to these services.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Your rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, we do not have access to your data. You have full control over your data at all times, including the ability to export it, delete it, or uninstall the App.
